New Year's Resolutions For Your Office
With the New Year already here and in full swing, our team at Builder IQ is sure that you’ve come up with some sort of personal resolution (or several, you little overachiever) that you’re going to try to uphold at least through March. Improving yourself is great...but have you thought about having a few resolutions to make your work life better for you and your coworkers? Fortunately, we did the legwork for you with the list below!
Communicate More Efficiently
Everyone knows that good communication is key to making a business run smoothly. Even if you’re just yelling across the hall trying to get your Panera order to your coworker or sending an email to your sales director about a potential new lead, let’s make 2017 the year of clear and concise communication. Because let's be honest, getting the wrong order is almost as bad as losing an important lead.
Stop Beating Yourself Up
We all know how rough it is when you know that you’ve made a mistake at work. But that’s the thing, we all do it, so stop beating yourself up about it! Be the strong, beautiful person we know you are and power through it. You can always make up for it the next time.
Blending Into the Woodwork (Yes, this is a home building pun)
No one wants to be that person who rarely says anything during meetings or in the office group chat. This year we would like to push you to find your voice and tell your coworkers your thoughts and opinions, no matter if they’re inaccurate. Even if you’re mistaken on something you can always learn from it!
Read Up on Industry News Each Day
Whatever your industry is it’s important to stay up to date on what is happening and what the latest trends are. So each morning let’s all try to find at least one article pertaining to your specific line of work and read it all, not just skim through!Hopefully at least one of these spoke to you and you can adapt it to make your year easier and more productive. If you have any other resolutions that you’ve thought of we would love to hear them!Thank you for a great past year and all of us at BuilderIQ look forward to working with you and seeing what successes 2017 brings you!
