Get Ready to Go Live!
September 6, 2016
If Facebook is part of your marketing strategy, you need to make use of Facebook's live video feature ASAP.
In an effort to encourage use of their (new-ish) video feature, Facebook recently updated its algorithm to favor video content--specifically, video content produced via Facebook Live.
What this means for you is that any time you post content on Facebook using Facebook Live video, people will be more likely to see it than if you had just made a regular post. Ever since businesses started using Facebook to advertise, Facebook has had to prioritize content in people's newsfeeds--otherwise, you would log into Facebook and see mostly advertisements while missing important posts from your friends. Because of this, businesses have had to pay to have their content promoted or be very strategic about what they post and when.
Facebook Live video is the newest opportunity to get eyeballs on your content without paying to boost your post. Here are some ideas for making use of this feature:
- Do a quick walk-through of your model homes and stream it directly to Facebook via Facebook Live
- Record someone from your team talking about your newest/best community
- Live-stream during an event, like an open house, to attract even more people to the event
- Visit a new community groundbreaking or a home under construction and live-stream the action
